We got lost in Bermuda's triangle. All right. That's what you could call it I guess. As assumptions always prove false, I really thought that Orlando , Cocoa Beach , and Daytona Beach were three over rated cities that just happened to be really close together. I was wrong. All three spots were jumpin' with poker players. We first hit UCF (University of Central Florida) by storming down frat row and going door to door speaking with a good amount of online poker players. Not really a surprise with how the tours been going so far. We had they most luck at the Sig Ep and ATO houses. The houses are right next door to each other and we worked out “a friendly game of cards” between the two. Yeah right. It got ugly with the Sig Ep house leaving early and the ATO's taking first, second, third, fourth and a lot more of the single digits. The kids can play cards. We gave T-Shirts to the guys that are now doubling as their basketball jerseys! Go Team SportsCrew!
We had some very heavy distribution of our goodies in Daytona and also in Cocoa . The poker tourney that we attended in Cocoa was crazy; I have never seen so many young poker players. It was an all age tourney for people on spring break and they had such a good turn-out that I believe they we planning on doing to different age classes next week.
We closed the weekend out in Cocoa beach with an event at Surfer's Sports Pub just off the beach, Surfers takes the award for best jukebox on tour so far. We also got to watch a large man finish the gauntlet, which is one beer from each of Surfer's 16 taps. Ouch is right, finishing with Guinness has to hurt as well. Special thanks to everyone at Surfer for all their help. It was a blast and I will see you in Tallahassee next. |
