Jacksonville Florida - Super Bowl XXXIX

Super Bowl Bound

Rule 1: Do not wreck the Hummer. Rule 2: Do not get arrested. Follow these two rules on my first road trip with the SportsCrew, and I should be able to survive, right? 12:00am departure from Atlanta delayed only one hour. RJ to the pilot seat, we are cleared for takeoff.

I took over the driving south of Macon and pulled us into Jacksonville early Saturday morning. We decided to head straight down to Alltel Stadium to test my tank maneuvering skills. Let's just say that weaving through cones and concrete barriers around what has to be highest level probable target on the Joint Terrorism Task Force's Watch List was quite educational. Our precise execution of dropping RJ off to get pictures and then picking him back up around the corner to avoid the security guards coming after us in their golf carts was quite laughable. So was the one fatty guard who told us we needed permission to photograph of Alltel.

We would like to extend a huge thanks to everyone at Sneakers Bar and Grill, for inviting us back and also adding an additional location to our tour.
This is SportsCrew 2nd ginormous football game in the JAX in just 4 months.
We started at Sneakers on Atlantic and as we pulled into the parking lot we here E_A_G_L_E_S____EAGLES! from the loud speaker of Party Bus just in from Philly. We knew we were in the right place. We set up in front of the Humshizzle to hold a guess the score contest and handed out t-shirts, bottle openers, and cuzzies to everyone who signed up. Even if their guess was asinine (Eagles 49 Pats 13, come on!). The most popular give-a-ways by far were the Bodog Swimsuit Calendars go the guys and the Bodog thong th thong thong thongs to the ladies. Everyone left with something, and the event was quite a success.

Sneakers at the Beach, need I say more? Well I'm going to anyway. The line to get in was over 100 sports enthusiasts long when we arrived early at 4.
The doors were locked as they cleaned up Snoop Dogg private afternoon football bash and then set up for the Super Bowl. The only time that you will ever hear Pats and Eagles fan cheering in unison came around 5:15 as a Let_Us_In, Let_Us_In, chant became louder and louder. Giving into peer pressure, Sneakers opened the doors, best of luck bartenders.

Sneakers filled quickly as the game was shown on their six 25 foot screens, as well as what looked to be 3 inch televisions next to them. As they say, don't stand next to the fisherman with the big rod if you want to catch a fish. The t-shirts flew from the VIP lounge above the entire restaurant, we handed out more thongs, key chains, and CDs. We had nearly 600 people sign up for the halftime raffle. Congratulations to Susan for her effort in winning the SportsCrew trip for 2. Paradise Islands in the Bahamas sounds nice. Send us a postcard. There was not a single person in Sneakers that did not know we were there. Pats Win, some eagles fans get arrested, we call it a trip.

See you when the Super Bowl has a new letter!
