1. Make sure you get plenty of rest before you come to Las Vegas.
2. Exercise and diet are very important. Make sure to drink plenty of water and eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Stay away from food and drinks with high fat content, sugar and sodium for two weeks before the Contest. Eat a well balanced diet. This does not mean take tons of diet pills!!
3. A nice even tan is essential. No tan lines, please. Do not over-tan your face. Even try to stay away from the sun too much. Go to the salon and use the mystic spray, or purchase a good even colored bottle tan from the store.
4. Bringing your own hair and makeup kit? (Suggested items: neutral make-up, pressed powder & puffs, hair and nail supplies). We have found that models look best in timeless neutral colors that emphasize your features. You do not want to look washed out but you want to avoid trendy colors that can date your look or appear too harsh. Bring sandals, thongs or sneakers (quick and comfy shoes to wear during photo-shoots and rehearsals).
5. Make sure your hair is healthy and trimmed. Drastic changes are not recommended before the contest. DO NOT change your look, it got you here, so stay just the way you are!
6. A French manicure or clear polish offers the most natural look.
Don't have your nails too long or painted crazy wild colors.
7. Practice poses and movement that will make you feel totally
confident and comfortable in front of the camera. Poise and confidence
are very obvious in a competition.
8. Be sure to have a travelers tag with your name, address and phone
number on all of your bags for your trip to Las Vegas.
9. Drink bottles of water on the plane, once you arrive and during the
events. Bring healthy snacks for energy.
10. Bring some spending money for shopping.
11. Bring an address book to keep track of the contacts you'll make at
the event. You never know who you will meet and why. You may have made
it this far just to meet someone important to further your career
later.
12. Bring your calling card or cell phone if you want to make
long-distance calls. It is not recommended to charge any calls to your
room, as they are very expensive. We do not recommend bringing your
items you do not want stolen or lost to the events. SportsCrew nor the
Palms Hotel are not responsible for any lost or stolen items, injuries
or accidents. A waiver will need to be signed before competing.
13. Bring easy clothes such as slip-on dresses or shorts and a tee. Try
to bring outfits that will not leave marks in the skin for photo shoots
like wraps and loose sundresses. Also try to bring a variety of
clothing for different events. (Casual, Dressy, Playful, Business)
14. Get the most out of the SportsCrew Sorority Event. This is a
competition and there are only 40 overall winners. All contestants who
have made it this far are really winners, but the 40 will have the
future with The SportsCrew Sorority for the following year!
