The Royal Post -- 12/08/06
Weekend Betting Edition
This weekend sports betting edition of the Royal Post features Sunday's big game between the Saints and Cowboys. It's a great divisional matchup and just one of Week 14's stellar games.
Saints March Into Dallas
Last week, QB Drew Brees led the Saints to an impressive 34-10 victory over the 49ers. The victory helped New Orleans (8-4) remain alone in first place in the NFC South. RB's Deuce McAllister and Reggie Bush combined for 322 yards in the win.
The Tony Romo show continued for Dallas (8-4 SU & 7-4-1 ATS) last week, as the Cowboys downed the Giants 23-20. Romo passed for 257 yards and again displayed second half magic. The win gave Dallas a two-game lead in the NFC East.
This week, these two clubs meet Sunday evening in Dallas. The Cowboys have been strong at home where they have covered the number in their last two games played in Dallas.
The Cowboys will try for a fifth straight victory Sunday, which would match their longest win streak since 2003. Dallas is averaging 27.7 points per game, second only to San Diego. The Cowboys are averaging 28.4 at home, where they are 4-1.
The Saints have cashed in their last two games to be among the NFL's top money makers this year at 8-4 ATS. The Saints are No. 1 in the league in total offense with 400.2 yards per game and with 297.3 passing yards a contest.
Brees leads the NFL with 3,649 passing yards and is 7-1 with 13 touchdowns against the NFC this season, including back-to-back victories over Atlanta and San Francisco.
New Orleans has won the last four meetings SU between these teams, including a 27-13 victory at Dallas on Dec. 12, 2004, in the last matchup. The Saints had lost their previous nine games at Texas Stadium before the win.
