3 More Selections for you wagering needs
Last week, the Royal Post included a future/prop wager on the number of wins earned by the Philadelphia Eagles this season. Again, we feel the number of victories posted by particular NFL teams during this year's regular season play provides the best chances to cash, so we are releasing three more selections for you football wagering needs.
Selection: Cleveland Browns under 6.5 Regular Season Wins
The Cleveland Browns have committed to putting QB Charlie Frye under center this year, who will be indulged in the learning process and that usually creates a dismal season. If Frye would happen to get injured the Browns do not have a veteran quarterback they can go to.
Tight end Kellen Winslor Jr. and wide receiver Braylon Edwards may one day be stars but it will be several years before they develop. The offense is young across the board and lack of experience will be obvious this season.
Veteran linebacker Willie McGinest and defensive tackle Ted Washington will head up the defense that's vulnerable to be shredded. These two alone can't get the job done and there's not much help elsewhere. Brown's fans are in for a very long season.
Selection: Oakland Raiders over 6 Regular Season Wins
Art Shell returns as the coach of the Oakland Raiders after an 11-year hiatus, which should prove positive for the silver and black. Shell brings discipline to the club and that will result in fewer penalties.
New quarterback Aaron Brooks is the key to the Raiders success. If Brooks can create chemistry with Randy Moss and Jerry Porter Oakland will have a solid season.
The Oakland Raiders' defense has recorded seven interceptions in four preseason games, after recording only five picks all of last year. Warren Sapp will be able to put pressure on opposing QBs with his presence alone and that's a huge lift defensively.
The defense should be able to give Oakland a chance to win in a majority of the games this season, and with Shell back at the helms there's good things to come in Oakland beginning this season.

Thursday, the NFL season kicks off with the defending world champion Pittsburgh Steelers hosting the Miami Dolphins. However, the Steelers will start the year without starting QB Ben Roethlisberger, who will miss at least one game following his emergency appendectomy.
Unless there are some unexpected medical complications, Pittsburgh expects Roethlisberger to play in the second game of the season on September 18th against the Jaguars in Jacksonville. Because the Steelers play the NFL's season-opening game Thursday against Miami, they will have 11 days off before their next game.
Charlie Batch will be under center for the Steelers, as he tries to fill the shoes of 'Big Ben' in Thursday's opener. Batch looked rusty while throwing for only 65 yards in a 20-10 victory in Green Bay on November 6th, his first substantial game action in nearly four years. He was much sharper a week later, going 13-of-19 for 150 yards during a 41-0 rout of Cleveland while Roethlisberger was out following arthroscopic knee surgery.
